Project Description
20 Beach Road is located near the dunes and golf course in Holme-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk coast. Our clients had lived on the site for a number of years in a post-war prefabricated bungalow that was nearing the end of its days, they loved the site but wanted a house that would stay warm and could accommodate family and friends when they visited. We worked with our clients to design a new home that responded to the site creating sheltered external space and south west facing living accommodation.
The new house is also designed to avoid flooding in the event of a tidal surge with floor levels raised above 1 in 200 year flood levels and a series of practical flood defences put in place. A Squared architects worked with Gorton Builders and Norfolk Post and Beam to create a bespoke home that sits well on the site and is more than capable of accommodating three generations in comfortable and engaging spaces.
